Juicy Italian-seasoned meatballs smothered in marinara and melted mozzarella, stuffed into a toasted hoagie roll. Messy, cheesy, and absolutely worth it.

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 400F. Combine beef, sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan, garlic, herbs, and salt in a bowl. Mix gently and form into 16 meatballs.

Tip: Don't overmix the meat. Handle it as little as possible for tender meatballs.

2

Place meatballs on a parchment-lined sheet pan and bake for 15 minutes until cooked through.

3

Heat marinara sauce in a saucepan. Add the baked meatballs and simmer for 5 minutes.

4

Split hoagie rolls, butter the insides, and toast cut-side down in a skillet until golden. Fill each roll with 4 meatballs, plenty of sauce, and sliced mozzarella. Broil for 2 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
